By Road
Directions from the north:
Leave the A74/M6 at exit 44, Carlisle. Drive toward Carlisle, and watch for signs to Maryport and Workington. Follow these to avoid the town centre, and take the A595
to Whitehaven. Allow one hour travel time.

Directions from the south:
Leave the M6 at exit 40 and follow signs west to Kewsick and through to Whitehaven. Allow 45 minutes travel time.

By Rail
Frequent trains connect from Glasgow and Lancaster. The station is at the north end of the town, and is a ten-minute walk from the Whitehaven Pottery
